Someone resists change... i wonder who!

So, i log on to blogger, ready to post away and this new strange blogger comes up.  So, this is probably that new interface they've been mentioning and beckoning me to switch to for the last, oh, 6 months.  Hmm.

Anyways, now that i'm done being distracted by something shiny...

Here's a video (hopefully) and some pictures (ideally) of what we've been up to lately.  Maybe you can tell i don't have a lot of faith in the whole blogger/internet/my computer's abilities. AH ha! After three tries, i win!

In other news, the restaurant formerly known as "Gordy's" opened recently.  And quite literally, the day after I heard, I was there. (And got a free lunch, thanks mom and dad!)  While I'm not totally sold on the new deal, it was the closest i've had since it burned down years ago.  The house salad gets an A, the ham and cheese sub a B (not much melty/toasty cheese, sad) and the no small salad and small sub combo gets an F!  Great to see some old friends (well, old youth pastor) that i hadn't run into in ages!

(if you haven't noticed, my upper case i is still broken, as well as a few other letters... too lazy to fix the i, too cheap to fix the problem!)

We were also able to sneak in a trip to the zoo on Wednesday!  Hopefully, if this video ever loads I can add pictures too).

Thursday in speech therapy Mr. Micah was a total stud and was able to "drink" 2 oz of his tube feeding formula in about a half hour.  Normally he putters after about an ounce of liquid. Way to go Micah! That means we've gotten both 2 oz of baby food and 2 oz of liquid in a half hour! That's progress (very slow progress, "inch"stones, if you will, but still!)

Super fun... it's summer in disguise!

can't really see them, but there are two wildflowers :)

Crooked Lake Nature Preserve

Pokagon State Park (haha, same outfit! can you blame me, it's so cute!)

Chain O' Lakes State Park (maybe not the most interesting one!)

We have been here and there and everywhere. So many places, so little time! Literally, so many places.
Sorry for only a few pics, blogger doesn't love my internet connection. Steal someone's facebook account and check them all out!

What you really came for...

This was at the Camp Mack Festival on Saturday. We all had a good time, and I know I can say I ate entirely too much delicious food.

The other is him just bopping around the house. I'd moved this chair out of the way, and now it's his little climbing sanctuary.

Meet the Trach Fairy..

This is the trach fairy. The sign says "When a person no longer needs a trach, the trach fairy takes it and gives it to someone who needs one. This year B5CA (floor) and the trach fairy have collected..." And this sign says 6, but now it says 7! Happy decan to the little guy down the hall!

And someone, please let Ronald know next time it's going to snow. He might want to dress warmer.

Here's Micah making (hopefully) his last visit to the playroom. We have to go through the main concourse so we like to try to keep the germs away. He doesn't even really mind the masks!
Well, ENT just came by and took out the stitches from his incision and hooked up his drain to suction (a little squeezed bulb). That should (SHOULD) be the last thing.

Sorry for the sideways picture!

More fun!

We visited a really neat VERY old school today. It was called Eleutherian (sp?) College, a school that educated ALL students in the pre-Civil war era. It was a beautiful building that somehow quietly educated slaves and whites, because they believed everyone deserved to be educated. It was a K-12 school, but called a college because it was apparently on "College Hill". It was started in the 1850s, and still stands today. A wonderful older gentleman gave us a great tour and told us a lot about the work of the Underground Railroad in Southern Indiana. It was a totally dorky thing to do, but it was great!

We roamed the trails at the Clifty Fall(less) State Park. There was hardly a drop of water, let alone "Falls" Bummer. It was neat anyway. Travis had Micah, and I had Micah's backpack. He needs to learn to walk and take his own stuff. He's heavy, and his med supplies are heavy! We also ate on the Ohio River... Literally! What fun!

I've gotten quite the lesson on patience this vacation. Micah takes about an hour to eat, and an hour to wait so he doesn't puke on daddy's head when he goes in the backpack. :) So, we go out for two hours, come back for two hours. It's not really working, because he's not getting as much as he should but we're trying! Picture uploads are down (I saw the 5pm, but not the Pacific Time, so that's probably, what 8pm here? who knows). I have some cute pics to show!

Now THIS is vacation

If this isn't chillin' with dad, I don't know what is. :)

In other news, the trip to Cincinnati wasn't the most productive ever. Orthopedics told us that his shoulder problems aren't skeletal in nature. I'm kinda shocked, really. But, it helps us narrow down that it's probably something related to his first big surgery, damage to part of the 11th craniofacial nerve. He seems to have damage to part of it, but not both of the parts (unless I'm not sure what I'm looking for). Well, if it's nerve damage... It is what it is. He seems to be functioning well enough.

His upper GI on his stomach showed exactly what I thought it would. NOTHING. Everything looks normal, and the wrap on his stomach is supposedly working fine. It didn't seem fine when he was vomiting today. Ugh. Again, I think we're at a point where it is what it is. He's still growing and that's the most important thing.

Clinic went as expected. The mass has grown, not tons, but it's growing. The doc wants the surgery in late winter/early spring. He's planning on starting up by the temple and trying to get behind his ear as well. Still looking at booking the OR for 4-5 hours, although that won't get it all for sure.

But now, we're on vacation. And we're chillin.

Some great zoo pics!

Luckily, the Peterson's took some great pictures for us.... Here's a few.
When we put Ella and Micah near each other, Micah kept trying to grab Ella's face, hair, etc. Hence Ella's "good grief, get me out of here" look, and Micah's austin powers, mwahaha look. They kissed and made up though. Ella likes to give kisses!
