You can't make this stuff up...
The little man's work calendar this week:
Monday: Hospital Speech therapy (1-1:45) and Occupational Therapy (2:00-2:45)
Tuesday: School (8-10:30), including School ST, OT and Physical therapy, and Early intervention PT (12:30-1:30)
Wednesday: Speech (8:45-9:30) PT evaluation (9:30-10:30)
Thursday: School (8:00-10:30)
Friday: New hospital based ST evaluation (2:15-3:15)
(and i haven't missed anything so far!)
Wowwwie, and no small wonder he's napped great yesterday and today! He's had a little overlap between his early intervention (stops at age 3) and hospital therapies, and now school too! When it's all said and done he should get 2-45 minute speech therapies @ hospital, 2-20 minute ST at school and 1-45 min hospital OT and PT, and 1-20 minute OT and PT at school.
School continues to start rough everyday, some more than others, but usually he's his typical self about an hour into it. The teachers and staff have been amazingly accomodating for him, and he has a really small class which is beyond ideal at this point. We've been noticing he gets very easily upset/agitated at a handful of high sensory experiences (especially related to noise), so we'll have to meander down that road and try to figure out what's up....
We're putting a trip to Cincinnati on the calendar despite the timing... it'll be oh, 15 days after baby is born! There's a great conference for families that are dealing w/ vascular anomalies. We've got two appts on the calendar the day before the conference, and hoping to get a third. He REALLY needs a hearing screen, especially w/ all this sensory crud going on.
Life's never dull, eh?

Kyleigh Ann
it's official....Kyleigh Ann has outlasted her big brother Micah as a "bun in the oven!" (And as a little sister, i can appreciate that she needs to have the "upper hand" as often as possible). To celebrate, she gets a name! :) LOL!
Busy, busy boy!
We've been busy living it up over here :) He's been very busy adjusting to preschool (hasn't exactly been smooth) and two new therapies at Lutheran. He has more of a social calendar than me! Boo!
As usual, he's a little ham (when he wants to be!) and here's some of our end of summer fun.

Our new big boy room. He's in love with it... :) |
Take my picture, mom! |
Party in the front yard! |
Apparently he has fond memories of his old car seat. Gotta dig all that stuff out now! |
Trach or not, he's totally obsessed with water :) Play on (safely), little man! |

This time has been different.
Well, the good news is that this pregnancy has been very different than with Micah.
That's very good news.
By this point with Micah, I'd been on bed rest for 3 weeks, and in the hospital for a week. Here's the view from 3 years ago.
Well, it's Friday. It's good people remind me, or else I might forget.
Hopefully lots of the youth are having fun at movie night tonight.
Not much new to report today. They tried me on a third medicine to stop the contractions. So far, it doesn't seem to be doing anything. The good news is that the contractions aren't changing anything, and they don't seem to be getting any worse.
Kudos to anyone who has been in the hospital for more than a few days... It's driving me crazy. Thankfully I have a wonderful hubby that is taking good care of me.
Pray specifically that Micah doesn't come over the weekend... It's just not a good/easy time in hospital-land to make something happen (like his complicated delivery). The maternal-fetal doctor is pretty pleased that nothing has changed. I'm trying to keep it that way (as if I had a choice, right).
Have a good weekend... God bless
Brittany
(P.S. The ultrasound on Monday showed that Micah has hair! I forgot to mention that! He must take after his daddy).
-----------------
My, how different. This time i've got to actually function in reality and i've got the nearly 3 year old that's exhausting me... And apparently, the lesson of the day is that the 8 month mark is probably when i should stop wearing flip flops.... Owwwwie! Not that it'll probably stop me. Rumor has it I'm pretty stubborn.
