Bad night

Micah struggled to breathe most of the day and night, so they decided to put his breathing tube back in this morning. Hopefully it's a very temporary fix until he can get his strength back up to breathe again. We just talked to Dr. Lim, and it's likely he's going to get his feeding tube through his stomach put in at the end of this week or the beginning of next. It's about an hour-hour and a half operation. The feeding tube in his nose is only a short term fix. There's still talk of a tracheotomy, but there's a few things they want to try first.

  3. I spoke with a lady in the office who had a premie and they had to use a feeding tube over the first year. Baby just wouldn't gain weight and eat. She says the feeding tube in the stomach is so much better an easier than through the nose. She was very positive about this part.
I've gotten into trouble with my mom because I'm not keeping her updated enough. She and all her "little old lady" friends are praying for Micah every day at mass and if I don't keep them updated they don't know whether to say prayers of thanks or ask for help. But that's my problem. Thanks for keeping up with all the posts and I will do my job of keeping the Terre Haute prayer group informed. I'm also keeping the missionaries in Costa Rica informed (they say thanks for letting them pray for Micah!) along with KC and friends in Oklahoma and Missouri.
Maybe if you kept track we could cover prayers in all 50 states!
I hope you all are staying stong. The pictures are beautiful. We love you!

  8. Brittney,
I worked with your Mom in the past at Presby and have heard about your precious Micah. I had to let you know our family is praying for Micah and the whole family during this scary and challenging time. Coming from one Mom who has been in your shoes, you are doing a fabulous job!! Keep up the good work and being Micah's advocate. You are right now doing the most important job! Micah loves you for it and someday he will be able to tell you so himself!
Love and Hugs are being sent your way!
    Kelly Duncan :)
