Micah is doing well (I feel like I keep saying that, but its true!) The skin around his neck has changed to a much more normal color. It was really encouraging to see that it looked a million times better. He’s been pretty stable since the surgery. The doctors are pleased with him- on morning rounds the doctor said “Wow!” when he saw Micah’s neck. I had to ask… good wow, or bad wow? It was a good wow. It’s been a pretty uneventful day which we are thankful for. The doctors took out my staples today, and sent me home. It’s good to be out of the hospital, but it was nice being so close to Micah. Now, for Travis it’s probably 10 minutes to walk from the house to the NICU. If anyone is planning on visiting, let us know. The hospital website has great directions from any direction. (Google Cincinnati Childrens). Also, give us a call so you know where to find us, and we can give you directions on parking and whatever visitor passes you may need.
We got a call from a pastor in Cincinnati on our Ronald McDonald house phone. He knows someone, who knows someone we know. He came to the house and looked for us, but we were nowhere to be found. He was from the area, and just wanted to see how we are doing. It’s amazing how kind and generous people can be.

  2. Micah - "who is like Yahweh" - We can certainly see our Awesome God's hand as the Great Physician still performing miracles. Only He knows how lives have been touched already through your faith and witness. Prayer is so powerful! "Micah is doing well" is the chorus to our hymn of praise. Love, Miriam Z

  6. Brit and Travis, So thankful that all is going well! What a precious little gift he is!! Ashley keeps me informed and she was so glad to spend time with you last Sat. We have all been praying and will continue to do so for strength and healing for the baby and you too Brit. I have kept LCA teachers informed and we have prayed for all three of you. The Cinn. pastor was probably Joy Lavender's (administrator and Principal of LCA)brother. She called him and told him and he was going to try and find you !!!! Just know we are thinking of all three of you. Can't wait to see that Little Buddy in person!! Love, Carole Delp

  8. Yes, Britt, we all can stand to hear every day that Micah is doing well. Also glad to hear that you are doing well -- bet you were glad to get the staples out! I second Aunt Ellen's idea of a combined labor day picnic/Micah 1st b'day party next year! You'll all be missed, but we'll call and send pics.

Don't forget to rest -- that goes for Travis, your mom & dad too.

Hope to see you soon (maybe next weekend) --
    Love Aunt Joni
